#MEFESTIVAL is Back!
Dudley CCG is set to host the #MEFESTIVAL again next week following the success of previous years. The focus this year will again be on primary school children from years 5 and 6.
Taking place on Thursday 22nd November, 9.15am until 3.30pm at Himley Hall, the festival themed day aims to improve health and wellbeing for children across Dudley in a fun and interactive way.
This year’s event has again attracted over 20 primary schools from across the borough with over 130 children attending so far.
Aimed at 9-11 year olds from all schools across the borough it is a great opportunity for young people to learn some new skills and take part in building better health and wellbeing in Dudley Borough.
The festival kicks off at 9.15am with a number of planned activities including accredited first aid training from Fastaid, theatre production on bullying from Loudmouth and facilitated workshops from Vamos Theatre.
In addition to this there will be a VIP tent where children can give their feedback and thoughts on different health and wellbeing issues and the ‘Let’s Get Active’ tent where they can take part in different activities with the NN Cheer Group and the Activate Team to test their fitness levels.
Teachers won’t be left out on the day either; they can join in on any of the above activities.
We will also be joined on the day by all of the emergency services who will be there to give advice on health and safety during the day and take part in some of the activities. We also have a special Air Ambulance landing planned for the morning and local radio station KIC FM.
Julie Jasper, Lay Member for Patient & Public Involvement: “Dudley CCG is delighted to have organised this event for the fifth year running. It is a key piece of work which enables us to improve how we engage with young people and understand better their needs and their opinion with regard to health services. Everyone has worked hard to create an environment where children feel comfortable to express their views.”
All schools attending will leave with a resource pack to share the event back at school.
