Dudley Integrated Care Provider (ICP)
Local people have told health and care leaders that they want improvements to the access, continuity and coordination of their care.
In response to this Dudley CCG and Dudley Council have been changing the way that services are organised and are currently procuring a new NHS organisation, Dudley ICP (formerly MCP – see below).
Dudley Integrated Health and Care NHS (DIHC)
Formerly referred to as the Dudley Multi-Specialty Community Provider (MCP), it has now been renamed to reflect the terminology used in the NHS Long Term Plan and to recognise the fact that it will hold a different style of contract – the national Integrated Care Provider Contract. Some historic documents below still retain the use of the term “MCP”. The formal name of the new organisation will be “Dudley Integrated Health and Care NHS Trust”.
Dudley Integrated Health and Care NHS (DIHC) was authorised on April 1st 2020. It brings together a range of health and care services in one organisation to work with primary care, delivered by General Practice, at its heart.
The NHS organisation has been created following the merger of Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust and Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (to form Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust) and is the organisation which will become the future Integrated Care Provider once the procurement is complete.
The first services to be provided by the new organisation are Mental Health Primary Care and Mental Health Talking Therapies.
Other services will join once the Integrated Care Provider contract is awarded after the 1st October 2020 by Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group.
