Jag Sangha, Pharmaceutical Adviser, Community Pharmacy and Public Health, said; “We would like to encourage people to think of their local pharmacy first when they are feeling unwell.

“Pharmacy First means people won’t always need to visit the GP for a less serious illness but can still get expert, confidential advice and reassurance from a trained healthcare professional.

This also builds on the role of pharmacists as part of the multidisciplinary team in primary care, making the best use of their clinical skills.”

“Most pharmacies have a private consultation room, appointments are not necessary and they are often close by GP surgeries, the high street, shopping centres and supermarkets so they’re easy to get to”
