Healthcare Forums (HCF)
Every 3 months we hold a public meeting called the Healthcare Forum (HCF). It’s chaired by one of your local GPs and it’s an opportunity to find out more about what the CCG are up to and to share your views, opinions and experiences on what it’s like to be a patient, carer or part of the community in Dudley borough. We talk about lots of different things from urgent care to dying well and you get to meets lots of people! Meetings are friendly and relaxed and we always offer a warm cuppa and a bite to eat. For dates of the next meeting, check on the Events page.
Patient Participation Groups (PPGs)
PPGs are registered patients at a particular practice who choose to meet roughly every 2 months. They work with the practice to help make improvements and provide a patient perspective on how the practice works and give an opinion on the wider NHS. 46 of our 47 GP membership practices have a PPG and we are committed to supporting our practices and our PPG members in developing their voice. To find out if your practice has a PPG – just speak with the Practice Manager.
Patient Opportunity Panel (POPs)
Some PPG members choose to join us at the POPs meeting which takes place every 2 months. The meeting is chaired by Julie Jasper who is the champion for patient engagement on Dudley CCG Board. We try and encourage 1 or 2 members from each PPG to join us and tell us about issues which are affecting their practice or their local areas. Julie then takes this directly to Board and they are able to listen and respond which gets reported back to the POPs group. It’s a really good opportunity to find out more about how the CCG works and to listen to local GPs telling you about local issues. We always alternate the meetings between daytime and early evening to ensure that people can join us if they wish.
Feet on the Street
The team regularly go out and about around the borough for Feet on the Street. Our GPs set us a task or question to ask and our job is to get normal people like you to share their view – we simply record you on our camcorder and we pop up all over the place. If it’s cold we might buy you a cuppa and sit in a café with you for a bit. We know not everyone wants to come to a public meeting so we don’t mind coming out to you. The footage then gets shown at our Board meetings for debate and uploaded on to our You Tube channel. We also use twitter #tweetonthestreet
Join our Mailing List
If you’re too busy to join us at meetings or just prefer to have your say then join our mailing list. We don’t share your details with other organisations or groups – it’s just our way of keeping in touch with you and sharing information around health and social care that you might find useful or letting you know that we an event planned or asking for your view on a topic.
